20 Reasons Taken is quickly gaining a reputation as a local sensation. Thanks to a growing loyal fan base and their efforts to promote 20RT with word of mouth it is only a matter of time before the group is thrown into the mainstream bracket. 20RT’s hard work, determination, and stage presence is definitely paying off having already shared to stage with the likes of Three Days Grace , Lucky Boys Confusion, and The Gufs. After 2 and a half years of playing out, 20RT was finally able to solidify themselves with the September 2004 release of “Redefine the Sound.” The album title was chosen to express that music must speak for itself. In March of 2005, “Redefine the Sound” was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Madison Area Music Awards. In March of 2007, 20RT headed back into the studio to start recording their sophmore effort. The album yet untitled is sketched to be released in 2008. 20RT combines elements of Rock, Funk, and Hip-Hop into a unique blend all their own, but have respectably been compared to bands like 311, Incubus, and Rage Against the Machine. As the music of 20 Reasons Taken willingly defies categorization, the band challenges the listener by writing music that is far from cookie cutter.
